The most difficult times after breaking up are early in the morning, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon. When those dark moments of sadness occur, it’s easy to feel like I am the only person in the world. When I feel this way, it may be comforting for me to think about the millions of people around the world who also just broke up with someone and are feeling exactly the same way as I am.
The feelings of loneliness and the need for companionship can be extremely powerful after breaking up. And there is no other person who can satisfy these needs better right now than your former partner. But getting together with them would only be temporary fix. The next day after the fix wears off the same old problems would become clear. Sometimes glaringly apparent if you’ve been apart for a while. Rushing out and finding another partner will not satisfy your needs either.
My best plan right now is NOT to get into any new relationships until I am healed, renewed, and strong! How long will this take? It all depends… Typically, it takes three (3) to thirteen (13) months they say (Internet). For some it’s less and for others it’s more, which is okay. For now, spending my time with my closest friends, dominating the local pubs to places where we can travel together and goof around just to enjoy ourselves.
If I need to cry the poisonous pain out of my system before I can begin to heal and move on, this YouTube video of Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman singing “Time to Say Goodbye” might help out. Although most of it is in Italian, it’s easy to imagine the words or I can fill in my own to fit my situation.
I recently got out of long term relationship of several years. They say it is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all, but that doesn’t mean the whole “losing” thing doesn’t seriously suck. No matter if it was the Battle of Gettysburg, or simply a parting of ways, the end of a relationship hurt like hell.
Moreover, when I was 18, I overcame depression. It was worse than recent break up blues. Though surrounded by my loving family and friends at the time, I felt alone. I lived as I was alone. Depression is so hard to explain unless you experience it. Best way to describe it is that even if you are surrounded by everyone you love, you still feel like you’re alone and no one can hear you/ help you. I have had a hard time talking to about this to anyone at the time but I conquered it.
During this time, my mom was there for me when I went through a really rough time in my life. She was so supportive and it wasn’t like what’s wrong with you more like what I can do to help. She is also my hero and inspiration since she has gone through some pretty crazy things and is still such an amazing person. Also, my friends have been an AMAZING support system and I am blessed to have such friends around me.
I am Amanda Naiberk. I have a lively personality with an optimist view, and most fun-loving. I am direct, forthright, and sometimes completely tactless as I would say exactly what others are thinking! This can be seen as refreshing honesty, or bluntness, depending on the audience. I can be restless and inquisitive, and often will make quick jaunts impulsively just for a change of scenery. Constantly seeking out something new and stimulating, I often have another goal in mind even before I accomplish the first. I am naturally questioning and interested in the big picture, and can be quite philosophical or opinionated.
I am Idealistic and honest, witty and fun-loving, and when I am in love, I need a partner who expresses love, loyalty, and a dedication that matches my own. I seek romance, excitement, and adventure and will not tolerate boredom or neediness in a partner. I am optimistic and spontaneous, spiritual and philosophical. Ideally, I would be happiest with a romantic partner who appreciates and encourages my love of life and my need for independence.
Currently, I am enrolled in Alvernia University. Well, I’m not your typical student. For starter I’m 24 years old and Nursing will be my second degree that I am going for. My family and friends are my main priority right now enjoying life and staying strong. I would absolutely love to go to a third world country and give my time/knowledge once I get my BSN. I love warm weather and being a beach bum. I want to make a drastic difference in one person’s life before I die. I’ve been a vegetarian for 13 years and proud of it. When I say vegetarian I mean no chicken, beef, or pork type of thing.
“A guy out there was meant to be the love of your life, your best friend, your soul mate, the one you can tell your dreams to. He’ll brush the hair out of your eyes. Send you flowers when you least expect it. He’ll stare at you during the movie, even though he paid $10 to see it. He’ll call to say goodnight or just cause he is missing you. He’ll look in your eyes and tell you, you’re the most beautiful girl in the world, and for the first time in your life, you’ll believe it.”
– Nicholas Sparks
“If I ever get married …
I want to build a box with our wedding date written on the outside. On the inside we would put two sealed love letters we wrote on why we fell in love and a glass of wine from the year we started dating. If things ever get too hard and our love fades, we will open the box, drink the wine and read the letters we wrote to each other to remind us of how much our love means and for us to never give up.”
