“Prime Stache” – is an all-American casual restaurant in the heart of Old City. The name is a pun on “stash” and the sign outside the establishment is uniquely denoted simply by a large mustache. Customers will enjoy an all-American dining experience that includes a healthy selection of domestic beer, spirits and wines, to the ingredients on the menu, which includes the likes of: papparadelle and meatballs, meatloaf, cedar-plank salmon, a chicken-club sandwich, fish tacos, and a variety of other distinctive takes on classics.
Philadelphia Eagle’s All-Pro tight end, Brent Celek has teamed up with Chef Hee Chang (a.k.a. Chino from Hell’s Kitchen appearance at FOX network) to create an experience of fine/exquisite dining with a feel of nostalgic food prices that are unheard of in the Old City. “Even the coffee – Kona, is from Hawaii.” says Brent Celek (Chef Chang, born in South Korea, is the only import). – Philly.com
Chef Chang’s menu is mainly small plates, opposed to full-size entrees. “When I go to a restaurant, I like to go with a group and try a lot of different dishes,” said Celek. At Brent’s request, none of the alcohol is flavored. His bar is stocked with bitters and house-made syrups for flavoring. The menu is family-friendly as well, with a delicious spin on the classic mac-and-cheese for the kiddies.
Created as a partnership by Brent, Chino and backings of several silent parties, they have launched this new venue Prime Stache, an American bistro, at 110 Chestnut St. in Old City. For Brent, by teaming up with chef Chang (who ran the kitchen at Redstone Grill in Marlton), the organization structure will allow him to focus on football and not worry about the day to day activities.
Already, a number of The Philadelphia Eagles’ players have visited the restaurant – including Jeremy Maclin, Desean Jackson, Jason Kelce, Todd Herremans, and several other Eagles’ players. Head Coach Chip Kelly enjoyed the dining experience as well, and Fox Sports’ Howard Eskin has also made an appearance.
The Old City Philadelphia has transformed itself to be the place to hang out when you visit Philadelphia. Vast array of night life to Zagat’s top eatery places are in Old City, and to top it off, major entertainment complexes/venues are adjacent to the location. Prime Stache is set to be another key attraction for the area for Foodies who enjoy casual delicious dining that won’t break the bank – as well as the occasional rubbing of elbows w/ the city’s finest athletes.
What is so unique about Prime Stache American Bistro is the food. It is fresh, it is delicious, affordable, and most importantly, the dining experience. I ordered the famous meat loaf to rock shrimp, charcoal grilled salmon and several other delicious menu items. Take a look below for various menu items and Prime Stache establishment.
If Prime Stache does well and it becomes a hit in Philly area, Brent and Chef Hee has already planned several other possible locations. Rumor mill includes other states as well as more locations in PA area.
