My parents and my brother are my biggest supporters and have always been there for me through tough times. I consider my family my heroes.
Cooking: I make a killer coconut oil chicken and over easy eggs.
Music: One album that I never get tired of listing to is any CD involving Led Zeppelin

  • Random fun facts? Hmmm… Did I mention that I love Led Zeppelin? I have a crazy obsession with cheese. I really want a pet cow and a pug puppy named Louie. I am ambidextrous. I am also insanely flexible.

I got bullied by girls in 7th-10th grade. There are still girls who like to talk and start rumors, but I have learned to deal with it. As a young girl, it was hard to feel talked about in a bad way. It was hard for me to handle being made fun of for my body (I was called fat). I hit a bad time in my life and had really low self-esteem issues and body image issues.

Bullying made me feel really insecure about my self-esteem and body image. I got very insecure about how I looked and girls would gossip about everything they knew would hurt not only me but other girls they bullied. I was never “Fat” but they would call me “fat” a lot. I have also had girls make up rumors about me just to bring me down and ruin relationships with other people. Although I had a great group of girlfriends, I still felt insecure.

I am Kate Thomas from Chester Springs, PA. I am a recent college graduate who is moving to New York to become an actress and a model. I was an English and Art major because I really enjoy creating things such as stories and artwork. I love sports and continue to remain athletic even though I had to stop playing soccer my freshman year of college due to injuries. I am an adrenaline junkie, so I am willing to do anything extreme such as skydiving, roller coasters and cliff jumping. I love to ride horses, play soccer and weight lift. Lifting weights and becoming more fit has really changed my life. It has given me confidence and has given me the courage to pursue modeling. I have struggled with self-image issues and becoming more fit and pushing my fitness routine to a new level has really allowed me to branch out of my shell.

During my freshman year of college I met Matt who really changed the view I had of myself. I gained a lot of confidence through seeing how laid back he was in life and through how he treated me. He was a wrestler so he was always working out and staying fit. It changed my outlook of fitness. I didn’t want to be fit to be skinny, I wanted to be fit to be strong and gain a sense of power. So, I began working out little by little doing cardio and spin classes. Gradually I began taking MMA classes which also helped my confidence. After seeing how my body was changing I realized my goals of becoming a model and actress were beginning to creep back into my mind. Not only was I physically looking better but mentally my whole outlook on life began to change. I started to care less and less about what people thought of me. I started eliminating toxic people out of my life and began meditating and practicing Buddhism. Then one day during my senior year of college I realized I was going to do whatever it takes to achieve my modeling and acting goals. So far I have met with agents in New York and have been preparing both mentally and physically for the move. I began eating and weight lifting on a body building based workout plan, but can’t be too ripped because that’s not my goal. I just want to be lean, fit and healthy. Working out at Winning Factor has really pushed my mental and physical limits. It has changed my life. I gained confidence and strength. I feel invincible and I am excited to move and pursue my dream. I don’t regret a single day and I am happy with my progress


During my difficult times, my mom, my dad and my brother stood by me. Each has helped me in their own ways. My mom is always there to talk and listen to me. She always has my best interest at heart. My dad will always protect me and help me in any way he can. As I have gotten older, we have grown closer and I can really relate to him now (because I am EXACTLY like him personality wise). My little brother will always be my little brother and he will always stand by me. He will hopefully always support me as much as I support him. As he has gotten older, we are able to have many shared interests and are able to joke around with each other and hang out more.

Q/A Session with Kate Thomas

SjC – What is your goal in life?

Kate – My goal in life is to be successful in both the working world and my personal life. I want to continue helping other people to the best that I can and I also want to be able to make a career out of my dream. I have always dreamed of being a model and actress but I never thought it was a possibility for me. I used to be a little overweight and never thought highly of my self-image. My goal is to become a model and help other girls gain a positive and healthy self-image. I also want to be able to help people and continue to do charities/ events that support cancer, animals and women’s self-worth. To achieve my goals I am eating a clean diet, working out 5 days a week and I am taking acting classes. I do local photo-shoot to practice my poses and getting comfortable in front of the camera.

SjC – What is your philosophy in life?

Kate – I think people should live life to the fullest with zero regrets, while also having compassion for others. My favorite quote is “Have compassion for all beings, rich and poor alike; each has their suffering. Some suffer too much, others too little.”- Buddha (yes I am a practicing Buddhist)

SjC -What makes you happy?

Kate – A lot of things make me happy. I am the happiest when I am helping others and making them happy. I am also happy seeing my brother succeed in academics/athletics and watching him grow up. I am also happy when I ride my horse Moo and snuggling with my puppies. Being around my friends and family, in general, makes me happy.

SjC – What are your most proud accomplishments?

Kate – Here are my list for the readers.

– Every horse ribbon I won while I was competing

– Getting physically fit and in the best shape of my life

SjC – Who are your closest friends and why they are so important in your life?

Kate – Well, my brother Cole is also my friend, so I admire him the most. He is super smart and works hard in school. He is amazing at athletics and is the type of kid who goes to practice, but then comes home after and continues to practice by himself. He also has a funny and witty personality. The other person I admire is Matt. He works hard and is able to keep his composure even when he is stressed out. He is very laid back with everything in life and sometimes I wish I could be more like that in certain situations. He makes everyone around him laugh and I really admire that quality. I have many more friends who I love so I will just list them:

Tara: has been through so much but continues to pull through stronger than ever. She has been my closest friend since I was a kid and I continue to love her more and more each day.

Jess: my college roommate. Love her to death! Her bubbly personality got me through some of the hardest times in my life.

SjC – Some siblings argue, fight or worst case scenario, not even speak to each other. You are very close to your brother Cole and very proud of him, why?

Kate – My brother goes to Malvern Prep (private school in Malvern, PA). He is an amazing 3 sport athlete. He wants to play d1 football and also trains at Winning Factor. He has won Interact in wrestling all 3 years he was in middle school. He also placed in Brute Nationals. He takes honors and AP classes, while keeping above a 4.0 average. In lacrosse he made the Mesa team which is a well-known team in the lax world. I am really proud of him!

SjC – What are some of the qualities you look for in a man?

Kate – Well, he has to be athletic. I can’t date someone if I have more “pump” than them. He has to be compassionate and generous, while also being laid back. I also need a guy who can make me laugh, that is very important. If he can hang my family and me (we’re a bit energetic and loud), then he’s probably a keeper.

SjC – Right now, what is most important to you and why?

Kate – The most important thing to me is to remain healthy and fit, both mentally and physically. I think it is important to have fun in life and not stress over small things.

SjC – What is your 5 year goal?

Kate – I want to be a successful model and actress.

SjC -What can we learn from you based on your accomplishments with all sort of obstacles you went through to achieve them?

Kate – People can learn to follow their dreams and never be too scared to pursue them. Life is hard and things are not handed to you easily. You must work for everything you want to achieve and hard work makes me feel accomplished.

Becoming a Model/Actress is not an easy task in life. To survive in NY City amongst all the vultures and con artists, Kate has to not only to survive in NY, but has to be stronger to make it in the field of Modeling/Actress. The competition is brutal and she will need all the right breaks to make it to the top.  -SjC
